Changes are coming

Thanks to my wonderful husband I get my new embroidery machine tomorrow. I'm so excited. Now I get to extend my business. I am going to take a break from painting for a little while and focus more on sewing, embroidery, and hair bows. After the first of the year I will be opening up my new website on Etsy. I will probably start off making just my hair bows and then will eventually be adding new stuff all the time. I have to make sure I know exactly what i'm doing when it comes to the embroidery machine before i'll start selling those products. Also I will be changing my business name to something that is more suitable to my many changes. I already know the name, but will not be revealing it just yet. After everything is set up and running i'll let everyone know. Thanks. :)

Of course my favorite is the Christmas/Holiday Cards. I like the stationery and photo cards. They are all so nice and so many to choose from. It is so hard to just choose one. And of course my husband likes the calendars. He has always been a fan of personalized calendars. Every year we pick a theme/colors for our Christmas cards. Last year it was black and red. This year I'm not for sure yet. Maybe green and black or brown to keep it simple. I seen some really nice elegant Christmas cards that I just fell in love with at http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/christmas-cards. I'm a fan of damask and if you are too Shutterfly has so many options to choose from. I'm so excited. Can't wait to get started.

Don't forget if you are a blogger than take advantage of this unbeatable offer. It's FREE! Can't beat that. I know it's going to help us out a great deal this Christmas especially in this economy. Even if you are not a blogger you can still check out http://www.shutterfly.com/ for all your photo needs. They have great products at great prices. The ultimate bow holder

I finally made my daughter a new bow holder. Which was long over due. I used a 16x20 canvas and 15 feet of ribbon and it's still not big enough. lol.

And NO this is not all of her bows. lol. I've been doing good here lately...haven't made as many for her and have been going through her old ones (smaller ones) and going to get rid of those b/c I think she is starting to out grow them. We are getting into the pigtail stage right now, so that means I have to make her two of every bow. She just turned two so I can't even image how many bows she is going to have at age five. I didn't start making her bows until after she turned one, but if I started when I was pregnant with her i'm sure she would have a whole lot more than she does now. Like I tell everyone, "I think I'm making hair bows and bow holders to pay for my need to make a matching bow for every outfit".

Birthday Candle holders

I love this new idea! It's a birthday candle holder. I always try to go way out for birthdays/baby showers. I always try to have something different. And i'm very picky when it come to the invitations. Last year for my daughter's 1st birthday I did everything pink and green ladybugs, but couldn't find a cute candle to go w/ it. I searched and searched and finally found a really cute 1 candle even though it wasn't ladybugs. Anyways I wasn't gonna do that this year b/c I knew I wasn't going to find anything I like so I just made my own and it turned out so cute. The cake was the center of attention (thanks to my wonderful sister-n-law, Misty), but the candle holder got plenty of attention too.

(Click on the picture to enlarge, so you can see them better.)

The monkey cake w/ birthday candle holder.

It suppose to look like my daughter. I think it turned out very pretty, just like her.

I made this one for Princess Ella Kate. I went to high school w/ her mommy and she fell in love w/ the one I made my daughter. She had the same problem as me...couldn't find a cute candle.

If you want a custom made birthday candle for your little princess, just email me at pretty-n-pinkbowtique@charter.net.

Multi-layer bows

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My husband has been on vacation for the past two weeks, so been busy. Here are some more recent bows I have made. Working on some other things. I finally used my sewing machine the other day for the first time. Gotta get some cheap fabric (better to practice on the cheap stuff first lol) so I can make my daughter an outfit...well try to make it anyways. We'll see how that goes. I'm excited. I really hope I can getting the sewing thing down. I would really like in the near future to start making boutique style clothes for little girls and boys.

Ballerina bow holders

Here are some more ballerina bow holders. Finally got my hubby to cut some wood out for me. So I had one week to make all these bow holders for my show. They were very popular at trade days. Had so many compliments on them. I was very proud of mine and my hubby's work.

Fourth of July

Here are the matching flip flops and pigtail bows I made my daughter for Fourth of July or can be for Memorial day too. I think they turned out adorable. They look a little busy, but they suppose too...they have to look like fireworks. lol. The first pair I made...the ladybugs, well they have been kid tested and mother approved. Everything is still intact. She ran and played at the park w/ them and she just loves them. Here are the best pics I took of my daughter in her cute July 4th outfit. She was in a bad mood this morning. lol. Just click on the pics to get a better view.

Bow flip flops

So here they are...My first pair of bow flip flops I made my daughter today. They were actually harder to make then I thought they would be. I guess they turned out okay for my first pair, but not perfect. My husband said they look really good. Guess i'm just picky. lol.  Maybe after I make my daughter a few pairs then i'll have them perfected. Either way my daughter seams to really like them, but she's a shoe freak anyways. I am gonna have her test them all day tomorrow. Hopefully they will hold up good.
